Step Back in Time: Black Experiences in Roswell
Begin your February with an eye-opening visit to Barrington Hall. Through the “Black Experiences in Roswell” series, you’ll uncover powerful stories that shine a light on Roswell’s history. Walk the grounds, listen to heartfelt narratives, and leave with a deeper understanding of the lives and contributions of Black residents who shaped Roswell.
Explore even more experiences at Roswell Historic Homes, Bulloch Hall and Smith Plantation, or attend the Mack Henry Brown Commemoration and Super Museum Sunday, where Roswell’s layered past comes to life through tours, ceremonies, and firsthand stories.

Feel the Rhythm: Beats, Ballads, and Ruben Studdard
Let the music guide you to Beats + Ballads, an intimate evening of live music that will bring music lovers together to celebrate the diverse talent of Roswell.
And this year, Roswell Roots 2025 is pulling out all the stops with a show-stopping headliner: Ruben Studdard! The American Idol Season 2 winner and Platinum recording artist will bring his powerful vocals to the stage with The Masterpiece Tour, delivering an unforgettable performance that’s sure to leave the audience in awe.
Celebrate Valentine’s Day with this year’s special edition: Lyrics of Love. This enchanting evening will explore devotion, adoration, and self-love through art. Featuring the powerful poetry of Ashlee Haze and Jon Goode, musical accompaniment, and stellar solo performances by talented local artists Carey Durham and Téja Viel, plus other special guests.
Later in the month, don’t miss Lavahi and Leyla McCalla in concert. These two remarkable performers bring their unique styles and rich cultural influences to Roswell Roots and will transport you to a place of joy.
For classical fans, celebrate the impact of Black musicians on classical music. The Atlanta Community Symphony Orchestra and Pleasant Hill Church will feature gospel spirituals and works by esteemed Black composers. Denielle Wilson, an accomplished Atlanta Symphony Orchestra cellist, hits the stage for a dynamic solo performance.

Celebrate Culture: Blacktop Improv, Mo’ Better Blues and More
Get ready to laugh out loud with Blacktop Improv, the nation’s leading African-American comedy troupe. Known for their clean, clever humor, this group of longtime friends and collaborators bring high-energy performances and quick-witted comedy that will have you in tears.
Head to a special 35th Anniversary Screening of Mo’ Better Blues at Aurora Cineplex and relive this iconic film that’s as much about love as it is about jazz. It’s an experience that only gets better with time, and you will love the throwback ticket price of $3!

Step into tradition at the 11th Anniversary Bid Whist Card Party, hosted by the Kings and Queens Chapter of the American Bridge Association and Roswell Roots. Come ready to shuffle, deal, and play!
Close the Month with Reflection and Inspiration
As February winds down, immerse yourself in Roswell’s thriving arts scene. Visit the Layers Art Exhibit at Roswell Cultural Arts Center and the Inspired Student Art Exhibit at Roswell City Hall, where artists young and old share their visions and creativity.
