Roswell Performing Arts
Roswell Performing Arts is a division of the City of Roswell’s Recreation, Parks, Historic & Cultural Affairs Department that offers a wide array of different Performing Arts programs in dance, theatre and music for all ages and genders.
We offer once per week classes as well as more intense audition-based programs of study in dance (Roswell Dance Starz) and theatre (Roswell Youth Theatre). We also have private music lessons in voice, guitar and more.

Dancetots Creative Movement: Age 2
Ballet: Age 3+
Tap: Age 4+ (Kinder 4 & 5 yr olds will do ballet and tap in class)
Jazz: Age 5 +
Youth Combo : Age 6-10 Combines 2 styles of your favorite dance into 1 class.
Hip Hop: Age 5+
Musical Theatre: Age 5+
Acro Dance: Elementary, Middle, High School levels
Acting: Age 4+ (stage & film)
Adult Classes: 18+ (Ballet, Tap, Jazz/Pop Fusion)
Music Programs
Private Voice lessons: Age 7+ Offered in 30 minutes for younger and beginner students, 45 minutes for older and more advanced students. 1 hour lessons also available.
Private Piano, Guitar, Bass, Ukulele: Age 5+ Offered in 30 minutes for younger and beginner students, 45 minutes for older and more advanced students. 1 hour lessons also available.

Auditions
Roswell Dance Starz Dance Company (6 levels): Rising 2nd graders+, Auditions held in May.
Performance (required) & Competition Team (optional for dancers placed in Company 3 or higher, this is in addition to Roswell Dance Starz Performance Company)
Training in Ballet/Pointe, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, and Hip Hop

Roswell Youth Theatre (2 levels):- RYT MainStage: 6th-12th grade
- RYT Kidz: 3rd-5th grade
Research has shown that students that participate in dance and theatre are more likely to have a higher level of self-esteem, while strengthening their cognitive and social skills. Dance as an activity helps in the development of balance, strength, flexibility, coordination, body awareness, health, and work ethic.
Studying music helps build language skills, increase IQ, and discipline, while supporting and improving muscle development and motor skills. Instrumental lessons focus on proper technique, age appropriate music theory and song memorization. Voice lessons focus on proper breath support, tone quality, vocal technique/placement and singer confidence, song memorization and performance.
The Roswell Performing Arts group is made up of 3 full-time staff members and approximately 15-20 year round part-time staff that instruct and produce up to 12 different shows per year and up to 30 performances! Our instructors have a broad background in the arts with professional performance backgrounds and/or university degrees in dance, theatre or music instruction. We are supported by the Cultural Arts Division and Roswell Dance Starz and Roswell Youth Theatre Booster Clubs. Our students earn scholarships to performing arts K-12 schools and universities, are invited to attend elite programs such as Joffrey Ballet School and New York University Summer intensives and go on to perform professionally.
